It truly is amazing how insane people will get over a piece of technology. Residents of China had camped outside of an Apple store in Beijing, prepared to get their hands on the new iPhone 4s. I guess this rowdy crowd shouldn’t have even wasted their time going to the store, because the sale was put to an end. There were just too many people becoming out of hand, and it was a safety hazard.Once the crowd was told that they wouldn’t be able to get their new phone that night, a mob broke up and eggs were even thrown at the authorities who told them the news.

Apparently a lot of people think their lives are worth risking, in order to get the latest gadget. This is not the first account in the world of rowdy crowds coming together for one product. I can just imagine the stories that we will hear once the iPhone 5 comes out. Or maybe I don’t to imagine it.

AT&T claims over 200,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4S. On the Apple website, delivery is no longer guaranteed by October 14th, 2011. After the negative response due to the anticlimactic release of this new phone due to anticipation of an iPhone 5, the 4S is still selling like hotcakes. It may not be an iPhone 5, but it is a definite upgrade on the iPhone 4, and any true fan will want the latest model of this mobile device. Sprint and Verizon have not released any sales numbers, but we expect that they are similar. The good news is that if you want to buck up a few more dollars, the white and black 64gb models are still available for early delivery – the 16gb models that sell for half the price are the ones in highest demand. Steve Jobs, 1955-2011

Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple was born in 1955 and died on October 5, 2011. He will be remembered as a leader in cutting edge computer, music and phone technology. Steve Jobs was an innovator. He took computers and made them cool. He took music and made it easier to access and portable. He took Apple and made it a leader in the mobile device arena with the iPhone. His funeral was today, and he will be missed.

So it wasn’t the iPhone 5 that was unveiled today. Instead it was a new version of the iPhone 4. Upgrades included the following:

• Dual-core A5 chip
• 8 Megapixel camera
• iOS5 and iCloud
• Siri voice control

Apple CEO Tim Cook will be unveiling the next mobile device scheduled for release. Could it be the iPhone 5? Probably… we’ll know in an hour. The ceremony will take place in a live webcast as people anxiously await the new design. There have been leaked rumors that the new iPhone will feature a teardrop design which might feel more ergonomic in fitting in the palm of your hand than the present rectangular shape. The real question will be whether it will be upgraded not just in form, but in function. The other possibility is that this teardrop is either just a rumor, or won’t come out until March 2012 or some other time n the future. Will there be an upgraded version of iOS phones? Possibly… iOS 5 has already been announced for release in the fall. And, it’s fall!

Apple loves to get the buzz going with staged losses of product prototypes. It’s getting a little old, but the latest is that an iPhone 5 prototype has been lost. They did this when the iPhone 4 came out, and CNET broke the news to the public. It makes one wonder how responsible a company would be that they lose prototypes left and right. That said, the police reportedly searched the residence of two Apple employees, though they turned up empty handed.

There are many rumors floating around regarding the release date for a new iPhone 5. Many websites are taking advantage of this and iPhone-related domain names like iPhone5release.org and iPhoneSpecs.org are popping up all over the place to take advantage of the potential traffic. CNet expects Apple to announce the new look and feel for the next iPhone 5 on September 7. Is it true?
